Joan Jett;the years have been kind to her.

I have never seen a double red line, nor have I seen a single red line. But I have seen red curbs used to designate fire lanes (fire truck access) next to buildings, especially in parking lots. I think I have also seen widely-spaced parallel red lines installed at an angle to the curb to designate a fire lane, but I won't swear to it.

White lines and yellow lines, appearing singly or in pairs, abound everywhere I've traveled in the States. The boundary between neighboring lanes is marked with a dashed white line (if changing lanes is permitted) or a solid white line (if changing lanes is not permitted). The outside edge of roadways, if marked, generally have a solid white or yellow line.

I don't recall seeing red lines. We are totally unimaginative over here. We use white and yellow lines. A third color would only serve to confuse us rednecks. Actually, if the truth be known, I am not really sure what all the lines mean. My limited exposure to English road markings left me totally confused. I did, however, think that all the zig-zag lines in the street were, well, quaint. Judging from all the lines in English streets, I have to believe that some minister's brother in law owns a paint company.

Note our red lines, do you have red lines in Texas ?.

I would not like being on the receiving end of that woman's kicks.
