We visited Windsor Castle today. It was unbelievable. We really enjoyed it. We got to go through the state apartments where all the ceremonial stuff is done. Although over-the-top opulent, it was historically fascinating. I don't know much about British history so it is difficult for me to associate things with a particular king or queen. A lot of the commentary just goes by me as a result. Still, you can just stand there and look and enjoy. It is well worth the hefty entry fee (once, that is) of about $25. The audio tour "stick" comes with the entry fee and it is quite good. You wouldn'tget much from just walking around and looking.
Ginny just had to have a photo of us with the palace guard. Here it is. It made me feel a little uncomfortable because I knew this guy was a real soldier doing what he was assigned. The British are quite good at that.
We have one more day in England. We are going to Hendon to the RAF museum. The weather looks like it will be typical British - crappy. But that has not stopped us yet.
