The last few days have been rather interesting from a photo processing point of view. Bloke and I went out for aerial photography on Friday. Of course, I lugged along my new camera. I decided to shoot everything in camera raw this time around. Boy was I surprised when I got back home and tried to process the files. My CS2 raw processor wouldn't recognize them. Big deal, I thought, and went to the Adobe web site to download the new raw processor. Guess what? The damn thing only works with CS4! Bummer. Fortunately, Canon includes "Canon Digital Photo Professional 3.5.1.0 " in the package with the camera. That has the ability to process and convert raw files. So I am back in business processing photos. It takes a little while to get familiar with it, but that is true of any software.
Now I am considering what to do. I have seen that Dave Beedon likes lightroom because of its cataloging abilitites. That is someting I am interested in. I am going to call him this week. My friend Tom Beech uses Adobe elements. That is also a good possibility. I would like to hear from others about what they are using for cataloging and photo processing, including raw processing.
Maybe I will get the upgrade to CS4 and add Lightroom. Of course I might just play the hand I have which works perfectly well. Got to do some heavy thinking.
