Air travel just isn't as cool as it was years ago. I headed back from Downers Grove to Houston today and had to spend some time waiting for my flight in O'Hare Airport. In the beginning it was considered an adventure, a fun thing to do. The flight was part of the overall experience, and it was very pleasant. Heck they even served hot meals in the back of the plane. Now it is merely transportation, and event to be minimized. I will have to admit that this is the fastest way to get over a long distance, but it just isn't fun anymore. My return flight was efficient, right on time. I got a whole can of Diet Coke. What perks.

The thrill is gone. It's so bad that the name "Pan Am" is now applied to Pan Am Railways, a regional railroad operating in northern New England. Bummer.
