We visited Providence on March 13, 2015. This was part of our up east road trip. There was a lot of snow on the ground, as you can see in some photos. This is a grand capitol building. It is the third largest free standing marble dome in the world (after St. Peter's and the Taj Mahal). Because it was off season and the legislature was not in session, we had lots of room to wander around and see stuff in an unhurried manner. The exterior reminds you of the US Capitol building.
