An Arctic Redpoll here in the foreground, but a really interesting dark Redpoll in the centre in front of a Common Redpoll. A Common Redpoll too? Looks remarkably dark to me. The dark upperpary tones on this bird I have not seen in many Common Redpolls, not to mention the suffuse dark streaking on a dirty mid range dark buff tone on the flank and breast. Note the crown, no red there. Looks on the large billed size to my eye. Cannot push Northwest Rostrata far from my mind when looking at this image...
