The Swamp, Caddo Lake State Park.

These photographs were taken at Caddo Lake, which is on the border between Texas and Louisiana. The lake is named after the Caddo Indians who settled on this rich land in the late 18th century. As you can see, the lake/swamp is one of the world's natural treasures, and is the home of a wide variety of flora and fauna.

It was a pleasure taking you out on Caddo. With all the photographers I have taken out I must say that your images really stand out. I could only imagine how many great shots you would of had if the weather had not been bad. All of this on a 11/2hr. photo tour! Great job!!

John, I live where we have swamps just like this, and I've tried for all my digital years to photograph them and esp spanish moss without much success. These are what I've been trying for all this time. I think I'll go back now and try again, knowing that it can be done. These are beautiful - capturing Spanish moss is a challenge in my opinion.

Never having much success in photographing swamps, your pictures of Caddo Lake have inspired me to give it another try. Great composition,they really capture the essence of the lake. I wish I had your creative vision. Got any gator pixs?
