Palacios, Texas: “The shrimp capital of Texas.”

Also known as “The city by the sea” and “The city of murals,” Palacios is located on Tres Palacios Bay on the Texas gulf coast. It’s a quiet, non-touristy town of 5,000, which doesn’t seem that big. Palacious got the moniker, “The shrimp capital of Texas,” because it’s the host to over 400 shrimp boats in its port. There are also several wall murals which were commissioned by the town to depict the history and culture of the area.

The photographs below were taken in a short afternoon and morning of picture taking while I was there to meet some old friends for a stay at the historic Luther Hotel. I hope you see something you enjoy.
