The garden is directly adjacent to the Church. This garden was once a place where horses were tethered while their riders attended church services.
As one enters the garden, immediately on the left one sees a large wooden cross. It was carved by a local artist from an old Black Walnut tree that was deteriorating. Rather than cut it down, the Board voted to make it a work of art depicting the life of Crist. The manger at the bottom represents His birth, and the dove carved at the top, His baptism, and the cross itself, His death.
The garden was the inspiration of one of the church's members, Gladys DuBois. It was her vision that the garden is a permanent, quiet, outdoor sanctuary where one could go to relax, meditate spiritually, for all who wish to spend time there.
