Here’s the pathetic story about these photos. I was on my way from Austin, Texas to the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Naturally, the flight was late leaving Austin, so I missed my connection. There I was stuck in L.A., at the Airport Hilton at that, waiting for the next flight out. I’ve been to L.A. a number of times and couldn’t think of anything I wanted to do. The Airport Hilton is actually a very nice hotel, but its location sucks. What to do?
Of all things, I took a “L.A. at Night” bus tour. Many of the photos in this gallery were taken through the window of the tour bus. The others were all hand held. Although not technically perfect, I think they are examples of the benefit of high ISO capability, coupled with image stabilization.
As someone who spent twenty seven years of their life in LA, these pictures take me back, even though they are, of necessity, of the more comercial highlights. Great work!
