Gallery: Gruene Hall, Gruene, Texas: The oldest dance hall in Texas

Gruene Hall (pronounced "green") was built in 1878 and is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas -- and it's still going strong.

Many of the "great ones" got their start there, including people like: George Strait, Ace in the Hole, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, The Fabulous Thunderbirds,
Hal Ketchum, and many more. Down through the years, just about every one you can think of has played there.
