Caddo Lake State Park

Caddo Lake is magic. And a visit to Caddo Lake State Park is a natural way to experience that magic.

The Park was built along Big Cypress Bayou by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the mid 1930’s. Within the park you can enjoy the enchantment of a swamp-like area of Spanish moss draped trees, the enduring craftsmanship of the CCC, and escape to another world, away from the rush of modern life.

At the park you’ll find quaint “cabins in the woods” to rent (recently restored and fully modernized); quiet campsites among the tall pines, an observation deck built out over lily pads into the “swamp;” a boat ramp; canoes to rent; a lush variety of vegetation and animal life; famous fishing; plus other original CCC structures, including a big, beautiful recreation hall, and an isolated group pavilion in the woods.

The park is located south of Texarkana and east of Tyler, near Karnack, on Park Road 2, just off Hwy. 43. For more information, please visit: www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/caddo_lake/
