This is a phenomenal place, Mona Blocker Garcia is a phenomenal woman! What she has brought about, here off 'the beaten path' was such a surprise to me, and so interesting. It was a highlight of my trip! Art and history, hospitality and friendship, what more can one ask? This is a must-visit destination! I was enthralled every minute, with Mona's recount of the history of the area, the art (the Weber exhibit was opening when we were there!) and meeting this truly exceptional, kind and interesting new friend! All is very, very impressive!

It is wonderful to see this place come to life again. I was so happy to be a part of it. It was instrumental in my growth as an artist and am so grateful to have Mona, Rudy and her family as my friends.

Dear Carolyn and Family, The International Woman's Foundation will celebrate its 10th year anniversary on October 4 with a wonderful exhibition... a historic retrospective of the first American woman modernist painter, Wilhelmina Weber, 1878-1962. It would be so nice to have you come for our gala opening. Dr. James Kettlewell. a retired art professor of Skidmore College will give a talk on the life of Ms. Weber. That week is also the annual Chinati Foundation meeting and art events. We are recommending that guests call the Holland Hotel in Alpine for acommodations. Mona Blocker Garcia

I have scrolls of pictures of my Dad's days at Fort Russell. Some are labeled as "Farewell to the Mounts". They are dated around 1931 & 32. I plan to visit Marfa sometime this coming next week and hope to learn more of this history and life in the military during his time there. I hope someone can guide us. Thanks. Carolyn Bowen
