Florida Beach Scenes

Every photo in this gallery is a true candid; none were posed or set up. Many of the photos in this gallery were made with a "toy" camera on 35mm film. As you can tell, some of my subjects may have been aware that they were being photographed, but in most cases by the time they made that realization, it was already done. Because I sometimes have to react quickly, my aim may be off and some of these images may be blurred. I don't automatically disregard a picture just because it's blurred. Sometimes the blurred ones are to me like a sketch made to preserve a memory.

It is not my intention to embarrass or make fun of anyone. Nevertheless, if you see yourself pictured here and want your picture removed, just let me know. Even better, if you see yourself and would like a print, let me know that too.

May I call you John? Bravo, my hats off to ya!!!! Your subject matter couldn't be better. Both are my favorites, people and beaches. Couldn't pick out one I liked any better than the rest. Loved them all. way to go. I took a stroll through your gallery while searching for beach scenes. I'm tryingto find some pictures to use as a base while drawing out a scene on my wall. I want to paint the beach so I can look out at it from my hot tub. Keep it up with the sharp eye. nice meetin ya John sincerely, Julia (not roberts)

Hey John, these are fantastic. I've always been infatuated with the 'toy' camera especially the holga, there's a 'spectral' quality that only they have when shot in mono.

I like your sepia and b/w photos; that plus the square shape of your shots makes them feel like they are old family photos I found in the attic. Very nice.

These are really interesting shots, especially the mono ones. The anlges and treatment, the vignetting all create a distance between the viewer and the subject. I really like the hazy feel of them also :) Bravo.. you have a natural eye for composition.

John, am glad that u liked my beach series... i actually got a lot more but dont have much time to edit and upload :) Your Beach shots are fab! i love the B&W's and Sepias the most! and yes the blue skies! i love the candidness that your work has but still shows great compositions/framing! keep it up! the beach be with ya! :)
