This Steller's Jay sat patiently for a handout while I couldn't resist the opportunity to take a dozen or more pictures of him. Notice that this jay has the blue forehead markings of the Pacific variety. On jays that live in the Rockies, these markings are white, instead of blue. Steller's Jays do not migrate, but instead are year-round residents of the territories they occupy.
