Hi John, some information about this shot. I was Mr Vidal's assistant at the time when he was asked to work for Queen with Peggy Moffit, photographed by her husband Bill Claxton wearing cloths by Rudi. I had developed a more robust version of the square curl by backing a custom weft hair glued to perspex. I assisted Vidal on the shoot and made several c shaped pieces for Vidal to use, and as the picture shows he arranged two of them to help create what has become one of a series of iconic pictures arguable Vidal at his very best.
