A view of Cheapside, a street in the City of London
Cheapside has existed from medieval time and the names derives from Old English meaning market place. The side streets were named after the products sold there, Honey Lane, Milk St, Bread St etc.
The street was heavily damaged during the great fire of London and again during the Blitz of WW2
