The Destroyer HMCS St. Croix, launched in 1919 as USS McCook she was transferred to the RCN in 1940 and renamed HMCS St. Croix
Her roll with the RCN was Atlantic convoy escort. She sank U-90 in July 1942 and assisted in the sinking of U-87 in March 1943
On 20 September 1943 she was torpedoed and sunk by U-305. 81 survivors were picked up by HMS Ichen, sadly HMS Itchen was herself torpedoed on 23 Sept by U-666, the ship exploded with only three survivors, one was from HMCS St. Croix
