A view of the Compiègne Wagon, the railcar used for the signing of the Armistice at the end of WW1, it was on display at the Musée's Cour des Invalides in Paris up until 1927
In 1927 it was relocated to a museum close to the site of the armistice signing. On 22 June 1940 the railcar was moved to the exact location of the WW1 Armistice for the signing of the Armistice following the defeat of France. It then toured Germany before being destroyed by the SS in March 1945.
