Photo by Frank Bennett Fiske (1883 - 1952) When the owner of the studio in Fort Yates where he was apprenticed as a photographer abandoned the business in 1900 17 year old Fisk took over the business and ran it successfully until his death at 69.
He specialized in photographing the Lakota from the Pine Ridge Reserve where Fort Yates is located.
