Torpedo boat destroyer HMS Viper under full steam...
Launched in 1899 she was the first warship to have steam turbine propulsion giving her a top speed of 33.8 knots (63 kph)
She floundered on rocks in heavy fog in 1901 and was lost, there were no casualties other than the navigator who was caught altering the navigation charts after the event and it was noted in the inquiry that he had " Incurred their Lordships' displeasure", a career ending statement.
