This one took a little bit of cleaning up.
A Nursing Sister of the Canadian Army Medical Corps.
More than 2,800 trained civilian nurses enlisted with the Canadian army during the First World War, becoming the first women in the modern world to hold military commissions as officers.
They served both at home and overseas with 53 dying from disease or enemy action during WW1.
There is a notation on the photograph unfortunately it is illegible other than the date of Aug 1919.
