An envelope addressed to the Honorable George Brown from the Grand Clan of Missouri mailed on 18 March 1879.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions the Grand Clan of Missouri was a Scottish fraternal organization providing welfare and insurance to Scottish immigrants and supporting Scottish culture, nothing at all to do with the KKK.
Brown himself was a well known abolitionist using his newspaper to further the cause..
