There are a large amount of dead birds along this road, although it is virtually a single track road, some people drive along it at death defying speeds.
This has almost nothing to do with the photo but when I visited Texas it was the armadillos all over the road. I read in Nat. Geo. that cars don't hit them; they hit the cars. They jump when cars are driving over them and hit the underside of the speeding car.
When returning from Utah on the interstate highway (70 mph) I drove into a bird that flew directly in front of my car. It bounced off the roof box onto the highway, dead instantly (I hope). It broke my heart.
