These were too fast for my autofocus, last 2 of 21 that went past.

21 were counted by an independent witness. I am getting too old and slow for all this.

Canon PowerShot G6

Latest intelligence indicates that kurvitasch has gone deep underground. No word on where he is or what he's up to. Nothing happening with the special double agent assignment (candle holders). File is on the back burner.
Dave Beedon31-Jan-2006 02:04
About the red herring idea. My search for relevant data concerning "Kurvitasche," using Google, yielded zero hits. At first I ascribed this to it's being a nonsense word, but then it occurred to me that Plant and his associates could have infiltrated Google and altered its searching algorithm to ignore that word. If this is true, we are up against a major player in The Battle. More to follow...

I appreciate your confidence in me, John. The work ahead is daunting.
John Cooper29-Jan-2006 14:12
Dave, Julian is a man of impeccable character. Any person who writes comments in The Royal Photographic Society web site, and drinks at The Prince Blucher is OK. Disregard the word Kurvitasche, another red herring.
Dave, More certain than Taxes and Death is the fact that I will hear from you again.
Dave Beedon29-Jan-2006 13:57
When the future of mankind is at stake I would not sink to the level of fishy stories. The danger is real. Mr. Plant is indeed a plant, and his spreading of false rumors about flying hub caps is a ruse designed to discredit our covert work. He's one of Them. Thank your lucky stars that we Yanks have been tracking this fellow ever since he surfaced, and what we found forced us to re-assess our dedication to investigative tactics. In that light, I have been hand-picked, as it were, to be a double agent (code name "Candle Holder").
All I can reveal at this time is the following:
---I set the bait in this manner:http://www.pbase.com/kurvitasch/image/41492209
---What I am "up against" as a double agent, pretending to be a mild-mannered photographic assistant:http://www.pbase.com/kurvitasch/image/28157101 .
If you never hear from me again, assume I have been compromised and carry on without me. I know you will stay vigilant for the sake of all of us.
John Cooper29-Jan-2006 11:31
Dave, I read your comments twice, there is nothing sinister here. You are following a red herring. No fishy story jokes please.
Dave Beedon29-Jan-2006 04:22
(Addendum to previous comment)
Note the pattern of "twos": two things in the image, Plant's being of "two minds," and his having two co-conspirators. This is certainly more than the result of a roll of the cosmic dice. Something sinister is going on.
Dave Beedon29-Jan-2006 04:17
John, in my defense ("s," not "c") I repeat what I said earlier: one cannot trust a person whose first name begins with a "J." The reason is that Plant's first name is related to calendars. I'm sorry to have to be the one to inform you, but Mr. Plant is trying to get on your good side by having a name related to your security algorithm. With that element of trust established, he is certain to foist his two co-conspirators (code named "Candles" and "Petals") on you to secure your going over to the "other side." Believe me, you do not want to suffer that fate---those agents are well-skilled in the most powerful methods of mind control and domination.
John Cooper24-Jan-2006 17:29
Julian, Now you are getting the whole idea of Psyops. Of course I am double bluffing you, or treble or quadruple, etc, etc. Trust no one except yourself, or me.
The picture of the man by the 1985 Subaru, thats Dave, or is it. Believe him without question, except what he says or writes.
Hope that has cleared up any confusion.
They are still not hub caps. DOUBLE TRUST ME.
Julian Plant24-Jan-2006 17:09
Hmm, I hear what you are saying but this could be a cunning double-bluff,
I don't know who to trust anymore.... you may be trying to pull the wool over my eyes
how do you explain this???
http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/47557181
Still in two minds,
Julian
John Cooper24-Jan-2006 14:10
Julian, You let me down, only the average person is supposed to believe this is a hoax.
Not unless you said that as part of your own personal Pysops plan.
These are not hub caps, TRUST ME.
No whistling, but plenty of whining going on. Situation normal, the wife was with me.
Thanks for checking E-bay for me, (they banned me from using it).
It is really nice to think that people are looking out for me, it restores my faith in the human race. ( I never worked out what we were racing).
Julian Plant24-Jan-2006 13:52
Dear John

I will try to put this as gently as I can, it is my belief that you are the unfortunate subject of an elaborate HOAX!!

After extensive bipolar hubble analysis the conclusion is that this is a photograph of two hubcaps from a 1985 Subaru Station Wagon that have been projected at high speed over
your property in order to confound you.

Have you by any chance experienced any high-pitch whistling or whining when making your observations - if so that would seal the matter.

Sad to say this is not an uncommon prank and some seem to find it amusing - worse, the perpetrator is known to you.

The only good news is that the supply has now been exhausted (have checked Ebay on your behalf) so maybe these senseless japes will cease.

I felt it my duty to bring this to your attention.
Respectfully yours, Julian

What message ?
Dave Beedon28-Dec-2005 21:19
I'm sorry, John, but as you can see, the message already self-destructed.
John Cooper28-Dec-2005 10:21
Dave, Could you change the self destruct time to 15 minutes. Some of the team are slow readers. Actually some can't read at all, but 15 minutes would be good.
Dave Beedon28-Dec-2005 00:01
Any elucidation would lead to my permanent sedation. Naturally, that would compromise my role as Team Leader (or as anything). If this information gets into the wrong hands I will disavow any knowledge of it. This comment will self-destruct in 15 seconds, at least on this side of the Atlantic.
John Cooper27-Dec-2005 00:00
Not people, that leaves machines, Aliens or politicians.
Please elucidate.
Dave Beedon26-Dec-2005 23:31
I never said that the tests were perfomed by people.
John Cooper26-Dec-2005 09:11
Dave, Regarding the people who did the tests on you. Have they been tested for abduction. And have their testers been tested. Oh dear, I wish I had never asked.
Forget this comment before you read it.
Dave Beedon26-Dec-2005 09:05
I only smell them when they are cooking, and it causes me to cry (not tears of joy!). As to having been abducted, all tests have determined that I have never been abducted, knowingly or unknowingly. Good luck with the smelling.
John Cooper25-Dec-2005 11:50
Is that not a lovely smell, I love onions, fried or not. Liver, bacon, fried onions. A favourite meal. Second only to the smell of eggs and bacon cooking.
Of course if it is phantosmia, there is a chance you have been unknowingly abducted.
Interfering with the brain often results in this condition.
Dave Beedon24-Dec-2005 22:22
Yes.
John Cooper24-Dec-2005 08:58
Formation, yes. Significance, not calculated yet.
Good code. I was totally confused.
Can you smell the onions yet ?
Dave Beedon24-Dec-2005 04:54
By the way, "Weere" is a code word for "Were."
Dave Beedon24-Dec-2005 04:23
Weere they flying in formation? If so, has anyone determined the significance thereof?
