This looks suspiciously like my backed-up sess-pool! A Crap circle perhaps?

John Cooper,if in fact that is your real name, you are indeed fortunate to reside in Putney,it being one of the few remaining districts of our "beautiful" Capital, not to have had its name bastardised by the illiterate rabble and foreign tourists.Yours is ,to my mind, the last bastion of the truly quintessential England;lazing by the River on a sunny afternoon,Pimms in hand,Tiffin and Croquet on the Lawn.Where else would "aliens" come to observe the proprieties of a civilised society at work?Where indeed?

Guest, not that you are one, but apologists, explainers, disbelievers and MIB's will always come up with something it "could" be. The truth is frightening, people do not like to be frightened, so they put their head under the blanket and wait for the problem to go away.

Could it be a fairy ring? A fungi that's common

Larry, very posh people live in Esher, they make their own rules.

Excuse me but isn't that three halves? There is more wrong with that town than pronunciation.
John Cooper31-Dec-2005 09:43
Pronunciation in England is a game between the classes, (upper, lower, etc) and the local residents. I guarantee that wherever you go in England and pronounce a name place. Someone will contradict you. An example, Esher is a little town outside London. About half the residents say it as it looks. The other half say it as EEsher. The last half wait for you to pronounce it, so they can tell you it is wrong.

Excuse my callous assumption about your level of awareness. We in the States realize that the sharpest minds fighting The Battle are in England (not Britain!). Sometimes, though, living in the greatest country in the history of mankind tips the mental scales toward a misplaced feeling of superiority. At least we keep pronunciation relatively simple, as with "Arkansas" (AR-kin-saw), "Puyallup" (pew-ALL-ip), and "Renton" (REN-ton).

We have a collection of brass shovels, knives and other implements for this kind of work.
This is our trade. This is what we do. We do it very well.
Dave Beedon28-Dec-2005 07:55
Use a demagnetized shovel.
John Cooper26-Dec-2005 23:09
When the weather gets better (about six months time) I will dig down in the centre of the patch to see what I can find.
Dave Beedon26-Dec-2005 05:12
It would not surprise me to learn that the ground beneath this spot has been fused by extremely high heat into a mass of magnetic glass, most likely the result of the take-off of an Andromeda class spacecraft using Dekatron propulsion. This could be causing the migration of the Earth's magnetic north pole.
John Cooper25-Dec-2005 10:39
Possibly, that could explain my low scores.
Dave Beedon25-Dec-2005 07:21
Do bullets get deflected from their intended path when flying over this spot?
John Cooper08-Oct-2005 09:47
Yes
Dave Beedon08-Oct-2005 09:20
Powerful magnetic fields can cause mutation in grass. Do migrating birds seem to get disoriented when flying over this area?
John Cooper07-Oct-2005 21:17
I personally cut this grass once a week with a ride on mower. I never miss the patch. It never grows properly. I have been cutting it since 1983. The previous "mower" said it has been like it all of his time cutting.

i agree with weston perry

I checked this site recently, it is producing 70 mrem per annum. Now considered safe.
Guest 27-Aug-2005 18:08
maybe some1 missed a patch when mowing the yard..
John Cooper29-Jul-2005 15:07
Dave, Seeing as genuine crop circles are caused by UFO's this is quite possible.
John

Maybe this was the site of a crop circle.
