Concord

Incredibly noisy as it passed over my house at 2,500ft on its landing approach, but a magnificent sight.

John, all these vicious Sergeis are just trying to break out friendship apart, trust me... Just like Tony Blair and Bush making us felling inferior... CIA is just part of Lubijanka, in its worst interpretation, I swear on the soul of JFK... and I am stiil flying on all these crappy planes at least once a month... Don't forget the latest crash of Concord, ( not 1970thees, ahahahahah ) but this is beyond the point and mutual passion for flight... Not sure, how long I can still sustain it, I mean American airlines... But... as former combat pilot I would like to unite Russians and Britons in development of the formidadle flying machine of the next century, I can see the traditions of La-9 and Spitfire going on and on !

Eldar,
TU 144, a beautiful plane. Have you heard the rumour about the one that crashed at the Paris air show on June 3rd 1973. They say that as all the plans for our Concord were being stolen they planted dummy copies with design flaws. The fact that Sergei Pavlov and Sergei Fabiew were caught with Concord plans in their possesion helps fuel this story.
Of course we both know that Russian authorities would never spy on their neighbours.
Many years ago I spoke to a man who worked on reverse engineering a Soviet fighter plane that had been stolen. He said the metalwork and machining were magnificent, but the electrics were crap.
If England and Russia had built the Concord, it would still be flying today.

John, I am sure you're proud about history of this glorious airplane( it is, for sure ), and... I support you with all my heart, it was great machine, but... Tu-144 ( Russian commercial airplane ) flew another 275 km faster than this baby ( leaving it in dust :- ) and, to make things worse, SU-37SD ( my favorite interseptor, fully loaded with all kinda stuff ) can fly at 5,790 km/hour for 45 min. straight at any possible and impossible altitute, unlike F-22 Raptor maxin' 4,570 km/hour for 12 min. at 14,500 m. (fallin' apart after that, :-0 )... So much for glory of USA domination in the air... Forget all these tales about European/American military technology, it is just propaganda crap... Especially Eurofighter, whatta joke... Russian planes eat more fuel, though, I should admit, ahahahahhahahaaa, but it does not count when your ass is on fire ! I can tell all this truth as former commander of KA-52 escadrille, you cannot get wrong with this guy :-). Unfortunately this is all what Russians can do,- build the space ships and combat jets, LOL

Concorde may of not been the success it was aimed to be, but would still be flying if it was not for the stupid French slackers.

Yanks have some hope you spent even more money and built nothing, so you take the TU144 instead

Dave, With the Concord being a unique airplane. Flying faster and higher than even military planes at the time. No other nation in the world being able to build and keep flying anything similar. They were packed with spy devices, embedded in every part of the plane. For Boeing to accept and keep one so close to their headquarters (and all their secrets) has to be the greatest con trick since the the Trojan horse of Greek history.
The words pillocks and plonkers are a common facetious term for the kind of people who would let a known "spy" live/work in their home/office as a lodger/employee.

Re.: “Trojan”
Need to clarify your terminology so that your message does not send us off on a tangent (dangerous these days). Operatives in the States, when hearing that word, are accustomed to think of a man’s prophylactic device (anti-disease; anti-baby-MIB). This association is based on a company’s brand name for said devices. It gets more complicated: our emergengy field kits contain those very devices (they are standard issue in The Eternal Battle [to possess women]).

Were you using that meaning of the word, or the classical Greek meaning? Please advise ASAP---I’m about to burst with anticipation.

Dave, I mentioned to my No.4 that you had a Concord in Seattle. He laughed so much he broke his restraints. Some of his more intelligible words were, pillocks and plonkers, and he kept on about a Trojan Horse. It's all Greek to me.

Yes

One of these resides at the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field in Seattle (no motion; no noise). On occasion, there is also one of the "?" craft on the flight line at Boeing Field, ostensibly for modifications of its electronics. Should I be worried by this coincidence?
