Peking to Paris in 1907.

Brixton Hill

Absolutely incredible run. This car was driven from Peking to Paris in 1907.
What an adventure, wish I could have been on that run. There were no proper roads in 1907, and this huge car managed the trip.
It took 3 months to drive the race distance. There were no roads at all for lots of the race, neither any maps.
The prize for the winner was a Magnum bottle of Mumm's Champagne.
The race covered 9,317 miles.
Petrol was carried by camels to make refueling stations along the route.
