No weir, weirs are hated by river planners. they love long straight waterways with no obstructions.
Except in Richmond Park, they have realised they have destroyed the eco system for life in Beverly Brook. So they have changed it back to what is was for many years.
Deep sections, and shallow bits, blockages either side so reeds can grow.
A lot more life there now.

I see. There was an edge like that, but if it was the same edge, the weir would be central in the visible water.
Have they taken the weir away as well? or is it just out of sight?
Am I sure, not senile yet. The inlet in the concrete wall was where the road went across the river.
Look in the note above, "landscaped out of existence."

I fished many times from that bridge. There was a weir there, are you sure you were on the correct bridge? It was the left bank that was wild ground and most fished from. Jimmy next door fell in there, and had to go home on the train in all his soaking wet clothes. Ahh, memories.
