No Gary, based on lots of things, partly the car, partly the driver.
It varies enormously between companies.
When I insured my small car early this year, the lowest insurance quote was £500,
and the highest £1,000.

John, while on vacation in Germany during the early 1990's we were five adults in a small car with, if I recall, a 1200cc engine. It was well geared so coped nicely. The owner explained car insurance is based on the size of the engine. Is it that way in England?
No problem if you got a small vehicle Richard.
If you got a big one, think again.

Here, in Canada and probably the US as well, more and more spaces are narrower and pegged for "small car only" and the usual family car being classed as mid-size we're still able to find a spot. It's the Full Sized guys that give us grief by using the smaller spot because they don't want to walk from the far side of the lot. (I do have a small suv.) Have you ever had to enter through the passenger side and lift your 200 pound body over the mid hump and transmission control?
I have. It's tough trying to rearrange your underwear while in that little seat.
