If anyone is interested, on our side of the pond is the City of Nanaimo, BC's famous bathtub race of 58 km which has been held annually since 1967. That's where I've gotten to love this type of festivity.

Gary, this is a tough race.
22 miles on the Thames. They travel with the tide but it is still three or four hours
continuous rowing for most crews.

I love this type of thing, John. The contestants put their all intro it including dressing up. Great fun for all. And your picture does it justice. Well done, John
