Is this a bad joke.

A3

This is the A3, one of the busiest roads in England.
The speed limit here is 70mph.
Many vehicles are going much faster.
Pedestrians crossing ???
There are signs each side of the dual carriageway.

other sizes: small medium large auto

Dave hitting a large lump of a human being at 100mph is going to do a lot of damage to your vehicle, if not total destruction. So they are reasonably safe. I would not attempt to cross here for sack loads of money.

Considering the situation, the sign might as
well say "Target Practice Area for Drivers."

Chris I checked this out today, there are no gaps in the central reservation.
Make that an Olympic Hurdler who might have a chance of crossing.

Never have seen a pedestrian here Tom.
Guess the speeding cars have had them all.

DID YOU NOTICE ALL OF THESE CARS ARE DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD … MUST MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR THOSE PEDESTRIANS
John Cooper14-Oct-2018 09:31
Perfectly safe Chris ?, Maybe for an Olympic sprinter, a suicide walk for me.
I cannot remember seeing a gap in the centre, I will be going that way soon, I will look for it. As a driver, not a pedestrian.

right of way footpaths do just cross dual carriageways, we have them on the A12...its perfectly safe a they make a gap in the central barrier (!)

John, I have seen some of your photos of pedestrians around Putney
and I am not at all surprised a warning sign is posted here.
