Yet another rip off.

My printer cartridges are empty again.
Very strange as I have printed nothing with any colour in it.
I only print letters, and I press the black and white button on the printer.
It says estimated ink levels but they were all empty.
Is there any one in this great big world who does not rob me.

This is why I have any prints done at a print service, cheaper and so much less trouble than home inkjet
I simply have a B&W laser printer for documents with only one black toner cartridge that lasts for 1600 pages without all the inkjet fuss and cuss

This rip-off is one reason I replaced my old laser printer
(http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/163629217 ) with a new laser printer.

Canon don't allow anyone to beat their daylight robbery system John.
If there are no colour cartridges in the printer it locks up, does nothing.
Set it to Black only printing, colour cartridges still get empty.
The only way to beat them is to use really cheap copies of the cartridges.
Original Canon Cartridges for my printer range from £50 up to £78.
Chinese or whatever copies or refills, average price £2.50.
At that price I don't care if it uses the colours to make black.

It refuses to print without the colour cartridges in.

Bob, I will remove all the colour cartridges and see what happens.

Gary, Thanks for your advice, but no way is anybody using my printer.

go through your custom settings. printers are set to produce black by using all of the colours at the same time. Yes, its a rip off.
If you cant find the setting, remove the colour cartridge and then you should get an error message asking if you want to use black ink only.

John, Is some one using your printer when you are out taking photos? If they are, they are wise about your moves!!! I think it could identify theft!!!!
