Titanic compared to the latest liner built.

The Titanic is superimposed on this photo in front of one of the largest liners ever built.
It is to scale, it shows just how big ships are getting.
The only thing stopping them getting even bigger is the fact that harbours are too shallow for the ships to berth.

Impressive comparison! Maritime engineering, like other engineering disciplines, has made great strides over the decades. Another example is the Troll A gas platform in the North Sea.
