My name is James Avery formerly 137 mess 13 top starboard. i remembered doing this ,i must say the camaraderie on board was brilliant , in fact while we were scrubbing tho decks we used to sing a little song , THey say that on the Arry
the food was very fine
a pea rolled off the table
and killed a mate of mine
Brilliant days and changed my life , sure i did a bunk with jumper he went back and i went back to civvie street ( shcool)then went on to complete an apprenticeship in Electrical Installations. But I look back to the Arry with great fondness for what the training did for me .THe commander was Captain La mare .I could name the officers but not now . Please Keep in Touch ol bois of the Arry .

Hi We used to do this 65 to 67 as the normal routine each morning during clean ship, even when the ice was forming on the deck from the hoses, yes you are right it was tough but really good training for future work in ministry !!
