John, when I look at maps of America, Canada, Australia, There are many, many places named after English towns and cities. It is very annoying when I google earth a place and usually it sends me somewhere else in the world. Even putting London after some places sends me elsewhere. I imagine when America sets up a Moon base they will name places after American towns. So if we are lucky, some of our old English names might continue across the solar system.
Near the River Medway. There is a Medway, Massachusetts which I remember from flying around the area in grad school. We flew from an airport in Norfolk, Ma. Seems the English named quite a few towns in the area.
