Delayed response, sorry. I believe they nest out of sight under brush, in an area that would be difficult for roaming dogs to get to, but not impossible. They've already given up guarding the pond, geese have free reign. Which means another year with no kiddies. :o(
Have you seen if they built a nest Jason.
We have lots of cases here where the young are being killed in the nest by dogs whose owners let them run wild in the nesting season.
Some areas, the young of swans, geese, and ducks is down by about 80%.
