Heteragrion spec

This species was uncommon, but encountered a couple of times on different trails.

On the basis of the information in Lencioni I am going to try and identify the damsels on these pictures. Potentially possible in the region are:
H. aurantiacum - Bahia, Espirito Santo, Sao Paul, Rio de Janeiro (Paraguay, Argentina)
H. beschkii - Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo
H. consors - Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo
H. dorsale - Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo (?)
H. flavovittatum - Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo
H. muryense - Rio de Janeiro
H. obsoletum - Minas Gerais
H. Ochraceum - Rio de Janeiro
H. petiense - Minas Gerais
H. tiradentense - Minas Gerais
H. luizfelipei
H. gracile
H. mantiqueirae

I just found a recent article describing 3 new species. Especially H. mantiqueirae might be of interest...

Indeed it's a Heteragrion. Perhaps some day we will have good lists from these areas that will allow us to connect a photo with a name. However, right now, with the Brazilian government's stand against foreigners surveying insects anywhere in the country, that may or may not happen. There just are not enough Brazilian entomologists to accomplish this, and they recognize the problem, but the official policy of the country is to discourage the many foreign experts on Neotropical Odonata from visiting Brazil.
