The ksar Aït Benhaddou stands on the left bank of Wadi Mellah, was often used as a film location - Morocco.
The oldest part of the village descended from the 13th century.
Around Aït Benhaddou and Ourzazate the last century, hundreds of fims have been shot in this region, including The sheltering sky, Gladiator, Kundun, The Passion of the Christ, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel and Ben Hur.
