We stayed in a small town called Praiano which lies between the more touristy towns of Positano and Amalfi. The apartment had a terrace with a view over the Mediterranean. As with most of the houses on the coast, they are built into the mountains as they fall to the sea. Each town is connected by precarious curvy roads -well maintained - but hardly able to accommodate two cars at once let alone two buses! They needed to have traffic people on guard to prevent a massive tie up which would happen if two buses were to face each other. We visited Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri, Ravello and a couple of smaller towns along the way. The most touristy was Positano, the most beautiful was Ravello, the wealthiest was Capri, most quiet was Praiano- I would not come back to Sorrento (too big, busy, noisy) and instead stay in one of the smaller towns on the coast. All in all a very attractive place best viewed from the water.
I work with your niece Jocelyn - and my husband and I and some friends are going on a tour (God Willing) in September. Your pictures (which are so beautiful) make me wish we were there right now!
Italy is one of the most beautiful places in the world!
Thanks for taking such great pictures - and for having such a wonderful niece!
