This owl was roosting at least 60 feet up in a scrubby White Pine stand. There was no such thing as an unobstructed angle, and the bird was predominantly backlit, so these photos aren't going to win any contests. Cloudy skies with the sun at a low angle in the morning helped a bit. I included the last, worst photo just because it was the only point the owl had its eyes wide open staring in my direction. Bad photos, but at least enough to remember my first ever Long-eared Owl.
