There is no better way to describe Arizona and Utah. People, such as myself, who are unfamiliar with the southwest U.S. are in awe when we first see the sites and scenes of this spectacular area. Though we may come from beautiful parts of the world, the deep canyons, red rock and other natural formations are very unique. This gallery is comprised of images taken in September '07 at the north rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and a few brief stops along the way. My most satisfying experience was at Antelope Canyon - the reasons for this were described in the gallery dedicated to this one spot.

This gallery will be a work in progress over the next month as I have the time to review the shots taken and upload those I believe people will want to see. I've started with the north rim of the Grand Cayon - what a difficult subject to photograph! It is so overwhelming I find the photographs just don't do it justice. The added complexity was a forest fire which really limited visibility, though the smoke did provide a bit of an ethereal atmosphere to the shots.

Because most of these images have a high degree of detail (Zion in particular), they are best viewed at their full size.
