Thanksgiving in Ecuador, 2006

The Hewes family spent their first Thanksgiving in Ecuador with our friends Dan and Susan. It was a very non-traditional celebration. We took a tram to the top of a mountain (over 13,000 feet), and then we went to the equator. Ecuador does not celebrate Thanksgiving. We will have a big turkey meal the day after Thanksgiving with many of our missionary friends, and on Saturday we will have roasted lamb.

Loved the joke about the bird crossing the equator...very clever. Excellent pictures! Congrats to Shari and Katie for hitting the target.
