Cabot Tower is Newfoundland's most recognizable landmark.
Built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee
and the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's "discovery" of Newfoundland,
it overlooks the city and ocean from Signal Hill.
Marconi received the first transatlantic message on the hill in 1901.
