"To walk alone in London is greatest rest" Virigina Wolf from her diary entry, March 1930
About Virigina Wolf - with her husband in 1917 formed Hogarth Press. Wikipedia states that, "one of the most important modernist 20th-century authors and a pioneer in the use of stream of consciousness as a narrative device."
Traveling to London has been important part of my life since the 80s - it is one of the few major cities that I can walk without a map or planned route in hand. Over the years, walking in central London is restorative - vibrant colors but classic styling, multicultural city with ethnic food, and always a new scene for photography. This street shot was side street from Seven Dials region of London near the corner of Shelton and Mercer Street. The Cambridge Theater is a block away and the colorful reflection that you are seeing int he windows is the London Graphic Center.
This and one other shot is my favorite photo of the year. Fond memories. Time with family and friends in a city that is "greatest rest."
