untitled - unprocessed

Johannesburg, South Africa

(The above image was converted from RAW to jpg with no alterations.)

One person asked me whether "...she was covered in mud, part of some obscure tribal ritual...?"

The reality is far less exotic, I have to admit. The model was a willing participant in a small face-painting exercise, whilst I clicked away merrily. (And I can kick myself for not noticing the lights reflecting on the (still wet) paint on her face!)

The actual colour of most of the paint was a horrendous green, which looked way too intense for my liking. I thus I opted for various bw and sepia treatments until I found something I liked.

In fact, I think the colour toning of the accompanying picture worked even better.

The question on my side now is whether all this info makes the final version weaker/boring, or more interesting?

:-) But that is for you to decide! :-)

My thanks to Rolien, Sofia and Queen who played along with my plan to "try something different..."
