Kayaking on the Colorado River 06-06-2007

We hitched a ride with our kayaks from Lee's Ferry to the base of the Glen Canyon Dam. (15.5 miles) The company that gives river tours only has passengers in the down-river direction, so for a few bucks, they will haul you and your kayaks up-river as far as you want. Lee's Ferry is the starting point for all Grand Canyon raft trips. The next take out point is Lake Mead, which is a couple hundred miles downstream.
