This is one of my all time favorite midday pictures.
Not infrequently midday light doesn't work well for
these sorts of shooting situations. But the nature of
this situation was a harsh reality, and indeed very
much a harshness done to the vehicle itself. And so
almost quite fitting and very congruent to the subject
matter that the lighting of the moment be of a direct
harsh quality as well. Not all good images are about
beauty, and some of the best images ever made are about
harsh reality. And so sometimes quite serendipitous that
we might actually find ourselves shooting in harsh
midday light.
