These photos feature the Dundas townhouse in the Madeira Beach Yacht Club, where Chris loves to relax and enjoy the warmth and beauty of the Florida Gulf Coast. It has a large bedroom for four, divided for privacy, full bath, and laundry/storage room upstairs. The living room with additional sleeper sofa for 2, dining room, kitchen, half bath, and balcony seating area are downstairs. There are TVs with VCR/DVDs on both floors. With access to both the Gulf beach and the marina on the Intercoastal, the gated yacht club has two pools, spa, mini-gym, game room, fishing piers, and lots of other amenities. The quaint fishing village of John’s Pass is only two miles south and provides wonderful eateries, shopping, entertainment, and recreation. Restaurants including the Daiquiri Deck and Mario’s are within walking distance, while others within 20 minutes’ drive up and down the shore offer every kind of quality dining experience. (And Jean would like you to know that it's just across the parking lot from the public library!) The area is well-known as a hatching region for the leatherback sea turtle, which can grow to be as large as a Volkswagen. Their nests are carefully protected by state laws. Additionally, the local residents leave their beach-side lights off or blinds closed during the hatching season to avoid confusing the hatchlings on their nighttime way into the waves. Volunteers with the regional aquarium patrol the beach to check on the nests and other marine life.
