The tallest mountain in the picture "appears" to be Lone Pine Peak (12,944 feet) ... well, don't believe everything you see. Lone Pine Peak "appears" taller than the distant Mount Whitney because it's much closer to where I was standing. Mount Whitney clocks in at 14,505 feet and is the highest summit in the lower 48 states.
